Is modbus TCP possible in next time?

Post by Helmut_number_one »

For me, please make a ESP32 Basic Modbus TCP modul . I would be happy if this function came into ESP Basic.
Best regards, Helmut
Edit ESB ;-
Everyone knows what I mean)
Or Modbus RTU and i use a Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP Adapter

Even Esp basic is not the good name :D

Seriously, what do you expect from Annex in terms of modbus?

For example, I have an electrical power meter,
Janitza ECS 3-63, I can query it with Modbus RTU.

The registers I need are
Function code 3 read less write,
another application is a Pokeys57E, which needs function code 3 and also function code 1
write and read.

Edit
For using in other project i use a RTU tu TCP unit it's a Exsys EX-6051 modul, so i can using Modbus RTU with TCP

Hope you didn't mind joking about the name Helmut, was nothing meant by it.
In fact you prompted me to go looking for a modbus 004T-100A which I've had laying around for years... in case it might actually become usable.

I never worked with modbus but, as per my understanding, it works with a serial link or TCP/IP over ethernet.

I'm curious to understand how many people are interested on this subject ...

Well, I think more than are interested in a TFT ST7735 or MPU9250 connection, for example.
All house automation software such as Openhab, Loxone, Homee, Home Assistant, iobroker and my favorite: IP-Symcon have a Modbus interface because many heat pumps, heaters or solar systems with batteries or other energy sources use Modbus.

I personally have no interest in ModBus but I would have thought it would have more use to the 'average' user than CAN.
CAN is almost exclusive to cars and few bits of industrial equipment.
ModBus is used by many sensors and home installed equipment. It is also used by medical equipment.
Maybe time for another poll?

Hmm, judging by the propagation delayed, absorption delay, and rebound delay of announcement such as the wifi air-mouse... stats might take a while.

So are you an enthusiastic outsider looking in on home automation and control forums Helmut, or do you participate... in which case you might be able to stir up some outside interest in easy Annex modbus for yourself, from outside.
