PLAY commands lost in 1.51.2 / 1.51.3

Post by AndyGadget »

Hi Francesco.
I was just updating a radio player and found that the PLAY commands throw a syntax error in v1.51.3

1.51.1 CAN is OK
1.51.1 CAN BLE was not issued

1.51.2 CAN is OK
1.51.2 CAN BLE gives syntax error

1.53.3 CAN gives syntax error
1.51.3 CAN BLE gives syntax error

Also in 1.51.1 where they worked, the issue I flagged of TOUCH commands not working when there was a stream playing is still present.
I've updated the bug report specific to this.

I can confirm that ANNEX32 CAN 1.51.2 works with PLAY.xxx commands while this throws a syntax error in 1.51.3

Yes, however these are development versions so I'll put back in the next version

I'm not sure about this yet and need someone to try it out as well:
I have problems with ESP32+I2S+Mp3 streaming as soon as I upgrade a running system from 1.48.2 to Annex32 1.5x CAN (even 1.50)
Metadata decoding works fine, while things get very unstable as soon as I2S output is to be done. If it starts the interpreter very often (but not always) seems to stop and than only a reset helps.
No messages at Wlog or serial to give any hint.

When I go back to 1.48.2, everything is stable again.

Hi Francesco,
no, this time I tried it with an old M5Core and a standard ESP32devkit both with external PCM5102A I2S-DAC

Just saw that changing between two stations one a Http- and the other a https-stream isn't a good thought. But that was not THE reason .
I will try again - but erase the filesystem this time

Sorry for the alarm!
After an erase, the world now looks cleaner or more stable with 1.50CAN.
Very strange as I thought the switch to LFS should have created a clean system.
Strange also because the module hung a few times on startup because it went into download mode without grounding gpio0.
Could the web based flasher be interfering in this way if it is still open in a background tab?
