the RTCMEMORY is volatile and maintains the content only for reset (not power off)

This memory maintains the content between reset so it is useful in association with the SLEEP command when the module goes in low power mode.
FILE.TAIL([{lines}] would be good.

Ok, thanks for clarifying - would be worth stating in the help that it does not survive a power-up to avoid any more confusion.
