LilyGo T5 4.7 Inch E-paper V2.3

Post by Schallschutz »

Hello,

I'm trying to bring the LilyGo e-paper to life. However, I am already failing with the correct image. When I use the image from the old web installer, I get the following error message: Unexpected chip id in image. Expected 9 but value was 0. Is this image for a different chip model?
When I use the new webinstaller I don't know which image to use for the e-paper.
I hope someone knows more and can help me.

I see, your module is based on the ESP32-S3 .... Unfortunately Annex supports only the ESP32 :-(

Thank you for the quick reply. At least I now know that I don't have to look any further.

The old board is no longer sold by LilyGo. I bought it specifically for this reason, under the false assumption that it would be supported.

Is there any hope that Annex will support this board in the future?

I'm sorry if I gave you false expectations about this board; I didn't know that the old version (which I have) is no longer produced.
Yes, support can be added, but it's something that takes time and certainly requires having one of these modules to do all the testing.

If the module still have the same Epaper display and the same touch controller, it could be possible without having the unit.
Maybe you can confirm looking at the datasheet / schematics of both units.

Hi,

It's not easy to find information about this board. That's why I was so
happy that Annex supports this and I can build a nice status display with my modest programming skills.
to build a nice status display.

As far as I could read so far, the display and display drivers are the same hardware.
The touch is almost certainly also the same hardware. But what has changed
is the S3 CPU.

I am happy to volunteer as a tester, as I would very much like to run this hardware with Annex32.
