M5STACK Tough support

Post by Askras1 »

Hello
Any chance to include M5STack Tough support in Annex32? The web interface seems to work fine (although I have not tested all HW features), but TFT does not work. It has the same ILI9342C controller as other M5STACK controllers, but the HW interface appears to be slightly different.
Best regards, Asko

waterproof, touchscreen, 8mb psram, 16mb flash
Those are the best specs I've seen, but at 60 quid I suppose you get what you pay for, and the price is more likely to go up than down.

It looks that the LCD is wired differently and it uses also another power controller and another touch screen controller.
Quite expensive to buy one an play with ...

Although the M5Tough is expensive, for an operational system it can be quite useful:

- No hardware engineering is needed, which helps if you need an off-the-shelf part that can be replaced easily without building a motherboard
- all inputs (power, GPIO, i2c) are connected via standard plugs
- it can work off a 12v supply using its own dc/dc convertor
- the display is built in
- the casing is robust and easily mounted
- and of course it has loads of ram

Not suited to your average hobby project but for something that has to work 24 x 7 and be maintainable long-term, pretty much ideal.

I have looked at this in the past but it's not clear to me; how to run wiring to it. I realize that there is a cable entry for power but does that mean a 2nd cable entry for field-wiring? Would be a bit of an eye-sore with two cable entries.

Craig
