Francesco, off the top of your head is there any reason you can think of why ESP32NoBle 1.43.7 should have a significantly higher sleep current than a couple of versions ago (I think I was using 1.43.3)? The reason I ask is that a remote sensing unit of mine which spends 99% of its time asleep and I recently updated is draining the battery in a couple of days rather than the couple of months it used to take.
I've yet to retrieve the unit and investigate this properly but was wondering whether you noticed any changes in the sleep mode in the new SDK.

no, there are no particular reasons for that.
Maybe some pins are by default defined as output and maybe deliver / sink power ?

Thanks Francesco. Just wondering.
I'll get the unit back inside today and do some proper testing to pin it down.
It's an internal and external greehouse temperature/uhmidity/pressure sender and wired in to the external sensor and awkward to reach.

Don't spend any time on this Francesco, it may just be coincidence.
I see signal strength is way down so it may be multiple retries and failing sending data causing it to be active for too long.

Nope - False alarm.
I brought the unit inside yesterday and the battery is holding up fine now.
Looks like it was down to poor signal strength causing many send retries.

Did you try to increase the WiFi.power?
In my practice this modification caused significant increasing of connection quality.
